Since its establishment in 1978, Cedar Chest has evolved to set the standard for fine body care products, home furnishings, stationery and gift items. And Cedar Chest Kids opened in 2006 offering imaginitive toys and beautiful kids clothing.
The secret to Cedar Chest's enduring success is our passion for finding new, interesting and unique items. Our inventory constantly changes as we stay ahead of fashion and design trends. All products in Cedar Chest have a good price / value / quality relationship.
The Cedar Chest Story
Cedar Chest first opened in 1978 and was founded by Mazie Cox. Mazie has a passion for finding interesting products and her good taste carries to this day.
Cedar Chest was purchased in 2005 by Phil Hueber, also owner of the Chesterfield Inn, a 15 room Country Inn and Restaurant. Phil was attracted to Cedar Chest because of its fantastic location in Northampton, its strong reputation and its strong management team. In his first year, Phil has directed a management restructuring, completely renovated the second floor and created the new store Cedar Chest Kids. And now the web site will carry many of the wonderful items in Cedar Chest.

Cedar Chest is more than just a store, it is an enterprise that employs over 30 people.
The Buying Team, headed by Sharon Dunn, travels extensively looking for new and exciting products. They travel to the New York Gift Show, New York Stationery Show, Boston and New York Textile Shows and spends much time in permanent clothing showrooms.
The 3 person Receiving Department, manages the flow of over 14,000 items currently in inventory.
