Northampton, MA. Cedar Chest, the anchor store in historic Thorne's Marketplace, has acquired Mulberry Tree, a children's clothing and toy store. Extensive renovations of the Mulberry Tree space have been completed; and new contemporary and innovative inventory makes the new Cedar Chest Kids an exciting and rewarding store for parents and children.

"Through in incredible team effort, we refinished the natural wood floors, added new lighting, painted every surface and re-merchandised every department to create Cedar Chest Kids", said Cedar Chest President, Phil Hueber.

Senior Buyer, Sharon Dunn added, "Phil and I attended the New York Toy Show in February, anticipating our creation of Cedar Chest Kids. We selected a lot of new and exciting merchandise at the show. We brought in an eight foot tall giraffe from Hansa and an elegant marble display from House of Marbles. We have significantly increased products from Lego, Melissa and Doug, Brio and Playmobile. We are constantly searching for new, exciting and imaginative toys."

Clothing Buyer, Janice Lattell said, "I have traveled to New York and Boston seeking new clothing lines for Cedar Chest Kids and we are really excited about our selection. We have beautiful and fun clothes for infants, toddlers and kids through age 12. We are pleased to offer fashion lines Flaphappy, Zutano, Esprit, Wes & Willy and many others.

Store Manager, Sherryl Haldy added, "it is really exciting to welcome Mulberry Tree and new customers to Cedar Chest Kids. The renovated space is bright, cheerful and fun. Kids, teens and parents are having a wonderful time playing with all the new toys in the store. We've successfully added new staff and the new store is functioning well within Cedar Chest."

Cedar Chest and Cedar Chest Kids is the two floor anchor store in Thorne's Marketplace, downtown Northampton. First floor Cedar Chest is devoted to body care and cosmetics, including Clinique, Crabtree & Evelyn and Ahava lines. Second floor Cedar Chest comprises home furnishings, stationery and gift items. The Bedding Department features fine Italian linens from Sferra and distinctive linens from Pine Cone Hill. Cedar Chest Kids has a wonderful collection of imaginative toys and beautiful baby and children's clothing.

Cedar Chest is open from 10:00 to 9:00 Monday through Saturday and 12:00 to 5:00 on Sunday.
